All the 5-stars…

For the second year in a row, it looks like Georgia is going to load up on 5-stars. The 2018 class had 8 players that had 5-star rankings from one or multiple recruiting services. The only team that has ever done that before? Alabama, who last cycle signed only one 5-star. The tide really might be turning.

With the 2018 season not even started, Georgia is again leading the pack for 5-stars. Walker is the 4th commitment from one of the nations highest ranked players. No other school has more than 2 commits who are 5-stars right now. Only two teams have two 5-star players, Oklahoma and LSU.

In short, the Dawgs are once again putting together an incredibly impressive class. They also are not likely to stop at just 4. Nakobe Dean is the nation’s top ranked inside linebacker and Georgia have been trending with him for some time. Clay Webb is the top-ranked interior offensive linemen in the nation this year. He’s from Alabama, but Sam Pittman has got UGA in the race for him. Right now, the Dawgs could conceivably land him although it’s always tough to pull guys out of there.

There will be others as well. This time last year nobody expected Georgia to land Tyson Campbell out of Florida. 2 years ago it was Isaiah Wilson who shocked many by picking the Dawgs. While they might not get to eight, there is a very good chance that Georgia ends up with six or more 5-stars this class. After last year, that would be an incredible amount of talent to add to a roster.
