Savion Williams, DT, Lackawanna CC

Finally, the big man. I have to be honest, of all of the three players, the guy I enjoyed watching the most was Williams. Yes, the film below is just of his spring practices, but good lord it’s good. Not only does the guy have all of the physical tools needed to be a defensive tackle in the SEC, his mindset looks tailor-made for what Georgia is trying to build. The guy is a stone cold killer.

I stopped counting after the 2-minute mark the number of times I saw him being held. It simply didn’t seem to matter because he still kept busting through and making plays. When he wasn’t beating up on his teammates from a physical perspective, he was basically just being nasty as hell. Jermaine Johnson said that he doesn’t like QB’s in his video. I’m starting to think that his hatred isn’t nearly as deep as how much Williams dislikes offensive linemen.

This tape was basically just 4 minutes straight of a 300lbs man beating up on other, apparently less nasty, 300lb men. It was glorious. Anyone else want to see this guy take on Cade Mays on a practice field for the next few years?

Next. The countdown keeps going. dark

Right now, the Dawgs are making a bit of a run at Williams. He was in Athens this past weekend and they seemed to make a good impression. To me, he’s the guy that matters the most out of this group because he plays a position where they need some depth. While I doubt Williams can be this dominant against SEC talent, I do know that his skill set and motor are going to fit in really well with the rotation that UGA uses on DL. He looks like the perfect fit and he’s something I really hope to see in Red and Black.
