Georgia Football landed its third commitment in just a couple of hours when top 100 player Rian Davis committed to UGA on Sunday night.
I think I’m about to have a stoke… Seriously, this really is a first for me. It’s like national signing day here at DotD right now. Commitments are popping like crazy for UGA and their 2019 class. This time, its Rian Davis, one of the top linebacker prospects in the entire country and a player that UGA has been heavily after since missing out on Owen Pappoe back in May.
Davis is an ascending player who can play pretty much anywhere in the linebacking corp. If he plays on the inside, he has the same sort of skillset as Natrez Patrick. Standing at 6ft3 and already over 230lbs, Davis has the size to move to OLB as well and rush the passer in some sets.
His decision moves UGA to second in the 247 class rankings. They are currently just one place behind Alabama. Both Bama and Georgia only have one 3-star player committed right now which is probably the main reason why those two sit atop the rankings.
Between Davis, Makiya Tongue and John Emery Jr, the Dawgs have had one of their best days in recent recruiting history. I can’t remember the last time I have had to write 3 articles so quickly in succession and I still haven’t even had the time to watch any film on any of these guys. This 2019 class is starting to look just as good as the last couple. Boy is it good to be a Dawg fan with Kirby Smart in charge.
