Georgia Football got a surprise commitment from running back John Emery this Sunday as Dell McGee continued his hot streak in recruiting.
I have to admit, I didn’t see this one coming! The Georgia Football team received its 14th commitment for the 2019 class and it’s a big one. Number two running back in the country John Emery Jr committed to Georgia on Sunday:
Emery is the third 5-star running back that Dell McGee will have recruited in the past two classes. Zamir White and James Cook joined in the last class and D’Andre Swift is expected to be a favorite for the Heisman Trophy this year.
This is a very exciting addition for the Dawgs. Emery is the fifth 5-star to commit to Georgia in the 2019 class. For McGee to pull a 5-star running back out of Louisiana is a testament to the high level he’s operating on right now from a recruiting perspective.
He is only the second 5-star running back from that state since 2010. Considering that LSU has almost as good of a record of putting RB’s into the league as UGA, they were clearly expected to gain his commitment. For McGee to pull this commitment off really is incredibly impressive.
I’ll be doing a bit of a dive tomorrow into his footage. Needless to say, Georgia really has earned it’s reputation of being RBU. Emery will bring even more talent to a position group that is going to be stacked for years to come.
