Is Georgia Football about to become Pass Rusher U?
The 2018 class brings incredible talent to Athens:
If Walker is going to set the standard, there are three guys who just arrived in Athens who could raise that bar even further. Brenton Cox arrived in January as an early enrollee and has flashed potential ever since then. He earned great reviews throughout spring camp and there is no doubt that he has an incredibly bright future. Cox also has the frame to put on more weight and maybe touch 260lbs while keeping his current explosion. Look for him to move to the line at times and rush from the defensive end position which will frighten offenses like crazy.
Adam Anderson is a different player to Cox. Much like Walker, he’s a long and explosive player with incredible pass moves. To be honest, Anderson might be the best pure pass rusher on the Dawgs roster already. When you watch his high school tape, he just jumps off the film. He’s built like an NFL scouts dream in terms of length and explosion. Once he’s added some weight and is around the 240lb mark, the guy is going to be incredible.
Then we have Azeez Ojulari. One of the most physically gifted players in the country last year, Ojulari would be the crown jewel of a lot of schools recruiting classes. At UGA, he’s just one of three at his position. That’s an embarrassment of riches. Having torn his ACL towards the end of last season, Ojulari will have to take time to recover and I don’t expect to see much of him this season. That being said, he has the talent to push all of his competition once he returns to full fitness.
All three of these guys have the talent to potentially be top NFL draft picks. With 4 years to make an impact, there’s a good chance that some if not all of them have to wait a while to earn starts. However, in the end, eventually, all of them could be leading pass rushers on a team.
