2. LSU.

This has been a game that I believe a lot of our fans are jumping the gun on a little bit. Is Georgia a better overall team on paper than the Bayou Bengals? Is Kirby Smart a better head coach than Ed Orgeron, who could possibly be on the hot seat this year? The answer to both of those questions is a resounding yes. There are a lot of unknowns on LSU’s roster. Ohio State transfer quarterback Joe Burrow is obviously talented, but how will he hold up against SEC defenses?

They have 4 talented young guys at the running back position, but it’s going to be tough to replace Derrius Guice. Even though they lost 2 key receivers in Clark and Gage, Texas Tech transfer Jonathan Giles has the potential to be a star.

I think the Dawgs mighty defense can keep the Tigers offense from running completely wild on us. There are 2 things that concern me about this game though. The first is their defense.  It lost one of the all-time greats LSU defensive ends in Arden Key but is still loaded with talent as usual.  Names like Jacob Phillips and Devin White may be on the ALL-SEC lists at the end of the year. And defensive back Greedy Williams may be one of the best in the nation.

They will be amped for this home game to protect their home turf against an SEC East opponent.  The second thing that concerns me is the venue. This game will be at one of the toughest places, if not the toughest place, in the nation for visiting teams to play. This crowd will be rowdy and loud. And if LSU has lost 2 or 3 games at this point in the season, which is very possible, they will be playing with a sense of desperation. Combine that with it being an SEC West opponent on the road and this should be one of the biggest tests of the season for the Dawgs.
