Hold onto your pants Georgia Football fans, because the Dawgs just got a new 5-star wide receiver ready to go for the 2018 season.

Well, that was a nice way to start the weekend. Seth Emerson of the Athletic broke the story just before 5.30pm on Friday, August 10th that the Georgia Football team will have another weapon on offense in 2018. Demetris Robertson will be eligible for the 2018 season after his recent transfer to Georgia. To quote an unnamed writer on our site upon hearing the news:

"I WANT TO RUN THROUGH A WALL!!"

Anybody else feeling excited for the season to start already? Robertson missed the majority of his sophomore season due to a foot injury. He decided to move closer to home after his mother fell ill and UGA and decided last month that he was going to finish off his college career at his home school of Georgia.

The Savannah native was one of the most highly regarded recruits of the 2016 class. He showed why when he accounted for over 750 yards and 7 touchdowns as a freshman. Now, the talented wideout will step into the SEC and can immediately join a very dangerous UGA roster.

Robertson brings truly elite deep speed to a roster that is already loaded with weapons. He’ll be a deep threat every time he touches the field and as time goes on will likely command double teams. He’s going to be a great fit next to the other Georgia receivers like Mecole Hardman and Terry Godwin in 2018.

What makes this more exciting is that Robertson will likely get better as the year goes on. Having missed most of last year and moving to a new system, it’s going to take him some time to adjust. But as the Dawgs move deeper into the year, he will likely grow into a larger role and could eventually be a true number one wideout. What a weapon for UGA to have and what an offense the Dawgs will have in 2018. Austin Peay can’t arrive in Athens fast enough. Seriously, can we please just fast forward three weeks!
