Georgia Football starts their season this week and so we start our week with a projection of the depth chart that the Dawgs will have for game one.

With the season about to start, it’s time for us to put out our final depth charts for the 2018 Georgia Football season. With injuries hitting, we’ve decided to leave out players Tyreke McGee because we’re unsure of when they will return to the team.

I would also stress that we don’t expect this to necessarily be the depth chart for long. Once the season gets started, injuries and form will likely lead to several moves throughout the team. Freshmen and newcomers like Demetris Robertson will see their playing time increase as they impress an that will change the way the team is structured.

So baring any last minute injuries, this is the team we expect to take the field this week against Austin Peay. Starters are identified by their names being in bold.

Offense:

QB1: Jake Fromm

QB2: Justin Fields

WR X: Terry Godwin

WR X: Demetris Robertson/Jason Stanley

WR Y: Riley Ridley

WR Y: Tyler Simmons/Matt Landers

WR Slot: Mecole Hardman

WR Slot: Ahkil Crumpton/Kearis Jackson

RB: D’Andre Swift

RB: Elijah Holyfield

RB: Brian Herrien/James Cook

TE: Issac Nauta

TE: Charlie Woerner

LT: Andrew Thomas

LT: Kendall Baker/Cade Mays

LG: Kendall Baker

LG: Cade Mays/Jamaree Salyer

C: Lamont Gaillard

C: Jamaree Salyer/Warren Ericson

RG: Ben Cleveland

RG: Solomon Kindley/Trey Hill

RT: Isaiah Wilson

RT: Cade Mays

Baring injury, I don’t expect this side of the ball to see much movement at all. Demetris Robertson could end up becoming a starting receiver, but even if he’s filling the stat sheet, I could still see them keeping Ridley and Godwin in their starting spots. At the end of the day, Kirby Smart doesn’t care about the team sheet and being a starter doesn’t mean you get the most snaps in an offense like Georgia’s.

The only other potential move I could see is on the offensive line. People have been saying all season that Kendall Baker would lose his job at left guard, but the senior has so far held off the competition. If he plays well and the unit dominates, I can’t see him losing the job. Line play is about all 5 guys together than just one man and I can’t see them making a change unless Baker is struggling which based on his play last year, he won’t.
