The 2018 College football season began this past Saturday with four games featuring non-power five schools. Big league games begin this week.

College football is back, finally. After a painfully long hiatus, the sport we love and crave is here again. Us Georgia football fans are waiting patiently for 3:30 p.m. this Saturday afternoon, but Georgia versus Austin Peay isn’t the only game we have to watch this week.

Don’t worry about checking your TV guides or anywhere else. All the games you should watch this week are all right here with the times and channel to watch them on. And as a bonus, the Atlanta Braves, Falcons and Five Stripes are included on this list as well, since many of you Dawgs are loyal supporters of the Atlanta professional teams as well. Don’t forget that the Atlanta Dream is in the WNBA semifinals.

Tuesday, August 28 – Wednesday, August 29

Georgia fans have two games to tune into tomorrow night. The Braves begin a two-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays while the Atlanta Dream host the Washington Mystics in game two of the WNBA Semifinals.

Tue – Atlanta Braves vs. Tampa Bay Rays: 7:35 p.m., Fox Sports Southeast

Tue – Atlanta Dream vs. Washington Mystics: 8 p.m., ESPN2

WNBA Semifinals – Game 2

Wed – Atlanta Braves vs. Tampa Bay Rays: 7:35 p.m., Fox Sports Southeast

Thursday, August 30

College football begins with a big Thursday night consisting of 12 games, but only one features a ranked team. The wannabe defending National Champions no. 21 Central Florida open their season against the Connecticut Huskies. The Braves are in action with a makeup game against the Chicago Cubs, and the Falcons end the 2018 preseason against the Miami Dolphins.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Miami Dolphins: 7:00 p.m., CW69 – Atlanta

Connecticut Huskies vs No. 21 Central Florida: 7:00 p.m., ESPNU.

Can the Golden Knights handle prosperity and a coaching change. They haven’t lost a game since December 2016 and they paraded around like they won the National Championship following their Peach Bowl win over Auburn. But Scott Frost is gone and first-year head coach Josh Heupel takes over. But they should defeat UConn who finished 3-9 last year and hasn’t finished over .500 since 2010.

Georgia State vs. Kennesaw State: 7:00 p.m., ESPN+

There’s not much interesting about this game other than the fact that both teams are from Georgia and feature a lot of homegrown talent. Georgia State has 55 players who went to high school within two hours of Athens. The most local being Dontae Wilson of Jefferson. Kennesaw State has 57 local players. Their closest player to Athens is Jackson County’s Xavier Harper.

Atlanta Braves vs. Chicago Cubs: 7:35 p.m., MLB Network

Purdue Boilermakers vs. Northwestern Wildcats: 8:00 p.m., ESPN

The first game featuring two teams from a power five conference. There’s not much more to say about this game other than that. The Wildcats should roll in this game. Despite their history, Northwestern has been a solid program since 2012 with three 10-win seasons.

Texas A&M vs. Northwestern State: 8:00 p.m., SEc Network. I mean, if you just have to watch SEC football, you can watch the beginning of the Jimbo Fisher era at College Station.
