Atlanta Braves vs. Pittsburgh Pirates: 5:05 p.m., Fox Sports South

No. 8 Miami Hurricanes @ No. LSU Tigers: 7:30 p.m., ABC, AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas.

Another coach on the hottest is Ed Orgeron. He finally returned to full-time head coaching last season after serving as LSU’s interim coach in 2016. His record is a pretty good 15-6 at LSU. But in his only other full-time gig, he was fired with a 10-25 record after three years at Ole Miss.

You know who isn’t on the hot seat? Mark Richt. He’s beloved at Miami for returning them to relevancy. The 10-3 season Richt led Miami to last year was their first since 2003.

D.C. United FC vs. Atlanta United FC: 7:30 p.m., Fox Sports 1

Monday, September 3

Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox: 1:05 p.m., Fox Sports Southeast and ESPN

No. 19 Florida State Seminoles vs. No. 20 Virginia Tech Hokies: 8:00 p.m., ESPN.

This is likely the most important game of the week. Every other big match-up is between teams from different conferences. The Noles and Hokies open the year in conference play, one of these teams are going to open the year with an ACC loss.

Florida State needs to bounce back from last year’s disapointment and there attempt to do so with Willie Taggart as the new head coach. Virginia Tech enters year-three with Justin Fuente, his record so far is 19-8. The fans in Blacksburg hope he can build on that success with a big year in 2018.
