Twas The Night before Georgia Football: 2018 Edition
By Mike Stowe
It’s that time of year again guys! Mike Stowe brings you his annual poem about Georgia Football to get you ready for the first game day of the year.
Twas the night before Georgia football,
and all through Dawg nation,
Those who bled red and black,
were filled with excitement and elation.
The hedges were all trimmed,
the grass was cut with care.
The G had fresh paint,
and over 93k would soon be there.
The Governors of Austin Peay,
were coming to town.
A fight with the big boys of the SEC was about to go down.
Dawg fans were getting ready,
to lay snug in their beds.
With visions of tailgating, the solo trumpet player, and Mecole TDs running through their heads.
Kirby had prepared all of his dawgs for war.
By around 6:30 on Saturday night Austin Peay would want no more.
On Fromm! On Swift! On Ridley! On Fields!
Soon we would see what this 2018 team would yield.
I was at home preparing for war.
Did I get enough to drink? Enough to eat? Did I need to get more?
Tomorrow was the beginning of a long journey with Dawgs and friends,
That would lead to an epic rematch between Georgia and Bama in the Benz.
Kirby was brought here to win,
and once again that’s what he’ll do.
12- 0, 11-1, or at worst 10-2.
Could this 2018 team repeat last year’s success?
I was thinking that they could, they may even be the best.
This is Kirby Smart’s team,
and things will be done his way.
Tomorrow it is finally time, Dawgs, to attack the day.
So let’s say one more time, on this Friday night,
“GOOOOOOOOO DAWGS! SIC EM!”
And to all of Dawgnation, a good night.
