4. Jake Camarda

I’ve already made my opinions of Jake Camarda known, so I’ll summarize here. I think the kids is the next great punter at Georgia. Statistically, none of his punts were that great, two went for touchbacks. But their distance amazed me.

One punt traveled a total of 81 yards before it hit the hedges behind the west end zone. The Sanford Stadium crowd who hadn’t left yet were amazed by his punts. No wonder 247 Sports had him ranked as the no. 1 punter in the 2018 class.

5. James Cook

Cook is only ranked fifth because of his boneheaded mistake that caused his ejection. But before that penalty, he electrified the crowd with 66 yards on six carries. His biggest play was a 36-yard run where he broke free from tacklers near the line of scrimmage before finding open field.

It’s worth noting that Cook actually outperform his older brother’s debut game. Dalvin gained 67 yards on 13 carries in his debut for Florida State back in 2014 against the Citadel. Cook nearly reached that total on seven less carries.
