Each week, Dawn of the Dawg will release a score prediction for the Georgia Football team’s upcoming game. Here’s how we did last week:

Prediction: Georgia 49, Austin Peay 10

Actual Result: Georgia 45, Austin Peay 0

The Georgia Football team is about to play what many are calling the most important game of the Dawgs’ 2018 season. This game against South Carolina is pivotal in determining which team claims control of the SEC East early in the season.

Despite being the favored and more talented team, Georgia is widely considered to be on upset alert in this game. South Carolina appears to be trending upward while many questions remain about how good this 2018 Georgia team really is.

The game against Austin Peay doesn’t really provide us with many answers about how well Georgia has done in replacing all the talent lost from last year’s team. The game on Saturday will certainly tell us all we need to know about this team and even more.

Because Georgia has many new faces on defense this year, I expect South Carolina to score multiple touchdowns. Gamecocks quarterback Jake Bentley could have a big game against the Georgia defense if the Dawgs can’t get pressure on him.

Georgia’s offense should be able to do whatever it wants against South Carolina’s defense. The Gamecocks are good on defense but Georgia just has too much talent on the offensive side of the ball. Georgia has the clear size advantage on the line of scrimmage which should allow for Jake Fromm and the offense to dictate the flow of the game nicely.

This game could turn into a shootout. If that’s the case, Georgia has the clear advantage in my mind. It simply comes down to talent on offense. Georgia has the better offense which makes a shootout scenario not too scary. If South Carolina can keep the game low-scoring and close, Georgia may be in for a nail-biter.

Prediction: Georgia 34, South Carolina 24

Georgia and South Carolina play in Columbia tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on CBS.
