Defensive front seven needs to keep developing:

We saw some solid play from the defensive front seven against South Carolina. The defensive line held the Gamecocks to less than 60 yards on the ground and rushed Jake Bentley several times. However, they only had one sack and there is no doubt that the Dawgs do need to improve their pass rush just a little. Fortunately, they have some players who can try that this weekend.

Brenton Cox has looked impressive in his time so far. He’s hurried QB’s a few times and held up well against the run. That being said, the Dawgs will want to see him get to the QB at some point soon. This week could be the opportunity for him to do just that. He may also be joined by Robert Beal and Adam Anderson who have both flashed in the limited snaps we’ve seen. Hopefully, both of them get some decent playing time because if they do, they could make an impact.

I also think that we could see some more playing time from the young inside linebackers. Channing Tindall and Quay Walker both have the talent to be viable options as the year goes on. They do however need some more time to get better and more importantly, learn the defense. I think both of them could really benefit from being out there and learning.

I would also like to see a little mor of Devonte Wyatt in the trenches this week. What little I have seen of him has actually been pretty impressive so far. He looks like someone who can become an important part of the DL rotation as the year goes on. This week gives him a great chance to show that he deserves more playing time going forward.
