This week of college football is even better than last week with major matchups in every conference that may make or break a team’s season.

I hope your TV has split screen, you’re going to need it this weekend. A lot of high profile games are overlapping and it’ll be hard to pay attention to them all without split screen.

Friday

No. 16 Central Florida Golden Knights vs. Florida Atlantic Owls: 7:00 p.m., ESPN

The defending make-believe National Champions continue their title defense tonight against in-state rival Florida Atlantic. The Owls are still recovering from the beatdown Oklahoma gave them to start the year. They have won two games in the meantime but neither were convincing. Earlier this week, FAU head coach Lane Kiffin compared the Golden Knights to an SEC team.

Southern California Trojans vs. Washington State Cougars: 10:30 p.m., ESPN

Speaking of recovering from a loss, the USC Trojans proved that they still aren’t back to their former glory after losing by two scores to Stanford two weeks ago, and being smacked around by Texas last week. Washington State is not a good opponent to try and bounce back against. The Cougars are blowing out everyone and they defeated the Trojans last year.

Saturday

Missouri Tigers vs. No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs: 12:00 p.m., ESPN

Just leave your TV’s on ESPN because that’s where you’ll tune in Saturday for the Georgia football game. The Bulldogs travel to play the Missouri Tigers and will have to deal with their firework offense. But Georgia did an okay job with that task last year. It helps that Missouri didn’t have the defense to slow down Georgia either.

No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide vs. No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies: 3:30 p.m., CBS

Alabama hits their first real test of 2018 in Texas A&M. Louisville and Ole Miss proved to be just peons for the Crimson Tide, but the Aggies are more formidable. They nearly defeated the Clemson Tigers two weeks ago, and perhaps should have seeing as they were robbed of a touchdown and possession by officials.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. No. 3 Clemson Tigers: 3:30 p.m. ABC

Too bad college football doesn’t have ties anymore. I don’t want to see either of these teams win. A Georgia Tech win helps us out, but I also wouldn’t be caught dead rooting for the insects. Lets just hope the Jackets expose Clemson in some ways.

Texas Longhorns vs. No. 17 TCU Horned Frogs: 4:30 p.m., Fox

Texas, fresh off of beating USC, plays TCU, fresh off a heartbreaking loss to Ohio State. The race for the Big 12 Championship official begins Saturday and this is one of the games that will help define it. Based on rankings, TCU should win, but the Longhorns looked awesome last week.

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Florida Gators: 7:00 p.m., ESPN

Never has the Tennessee/Florida rivalry been so futile. The Volunteers embarrassed themselves and the SEC with a blowout loss to West Virginia  while the Gators ended their long winning streak over Kentucky.

No. 20 Oregon Ducks vs. No. 7 Stanford Cardinal: 8:00 p.m., ABC

No. 10 Washington Huskies vs. Arizona State Sun Devils: 10:30 p.m., ESPN

Stanford and Washington are in the drivers seat in the Pac 12 North at the moment, but all that might change tomorrow night. The Cardinal travels to the Autzen Zoo to play no. 20 Oregon. Washington travels south to play an Arizona State team that is flowing with energy early in the Herm Edwards era. The Sun Devils are coming off a loss to San Diego State however.
