UGA’s offensive line vs Vols defensive line:

This might be another problem area for the Vols. Florida isn’t exactly a brilliant running team this season. Felipe Franks isn’t the traditional Dan Mullen QB so the Gators are not running the system that Mullen really wants yet. Still, Florida ran for over 200 yards against the Vols last week and they did so at just under 6 yards per carry. That does not bode well going into this week.

Florida’s offensive line was tortured by Kentucky a week before they played the Vols. When I say tortured, go back and watch the film, I am not joking. They were absolutely dominated by a bunch of 2 and 3-star players who simply wanted the win more than them. The Gators do not have a good offensive line and yet they dominated Tennessee for much of the game. Sure, they allowed four tackle for losses, but other than that, it was a one-sided performance.

That’s got to make Georgia feel good about this week. According to PFF, UGA has the best offensive line in the SEC. Yes they will play without Ben Cleveland this week and maybe without Andrew Thomas. Still, the Dawgs have to feel pretty good about their unit dominating this particular battle of the trenches. They have so much talent and depth, that it’s hard not to see them doing just that.
