Tennessee’s offensive line vs UGA’s outside linebackers:

This one could get nasty. I know that Georgia is going to key in at stopping the run this week. Unlike against Missouri, the Dawgs are not going to worry too much about Jarrett Guarantano throwing over them. That likely means that their outside linebackers will spend a lot of time trying to shut down the run rather than rush the passer.

Whatever it is Georgia’s linebackers do, however, look for them to cause havoc for the Vols offensive line. That is one of the worst performing parts of the Vols football team right now. They struggled mightily against Florida, allowing nine tackles for loss and I expect much of the same will happen this week.

Tennessee lacks the athletic ability that Georgia has on the outside. D’Andre Walker has quietly had a really solid start to his senior year and the rest of Georgia’s young OLB’s all look impressive. Walter Grant has done a great job of setting the edge in the running game and covering in certain sets. Brenton Cox looks ready to finally get his first sack and is getting more and more playing time.

Adam Anderson and Robert Beal are both young freshmen who have flashed when they have seen the field. In short, UGA is loaded with speed and talent from their OLB position group and I just don’t see how the Vols are going to handle it. This is one edge that definitely falls in Georgia’s favour.
