Georgia Football has a lot of high profile recruits in town for this weekends game against Tennessee for their first big-time game in Sanford Stadium of the year.

There is no doubt that Dawg fans haven’t had the most exciting games to start the season in Athens. The two games fans have got to watch so far in Sanford Stadium were Austin Peay and Middle Tennessee. While Georgia Football certainly brought in some recruits in those weeks, their two big games so far this season have been away. That’s a little frustrating when you consider the new facilities that were built this offseason that put the Dawgs right at the top of the SEC.

This weekend, the Dawgs have a traditional rival in town. Sure, the Tennessee Volunteers are struggling and this isn’t expected to be much of a game, but the atmosphere should be great in Sanford. Dawg fans do not like the Vols and I fully expect the stadium to be rocking. Because of that, this is the perfect opportunity for Georgia to bring in some premier recruits to see the Bulldogs.

Jeff Sentell of Dawgnation.com has a list of all of the prospects expected in Athens this weekend. It’s quite impressive, loaded with 5-star players including a lot of current commits. John Emery Jr, the 5-star running back from Louisiana will take his first trip to Athens for a game. Jadon Haselwood, Travon Walker and Dominick Blaylock will all be in town as well. That’s four of Georgia’s five 5-star commits.

There are a lot of targets coming in as well. Lewis Cine, a big-time safety from Texas is on his official visit to UGA. He’s favored to come to Georgia right now and would help secure a top three class for 2019. Clay Webb, the 5-star center is all going to be at the game and if the Dawgs can pull the top-ranked interior linemen out of Alabama, Sam Pittman really might be a magician.

Kirby Smart also has a lot of top-ranked 2020 and 2021 recruits in town. It’s pretty clear what UGA is trying to do. They have pretty much already built their 2019 class and so are already looking forward. They’ve got 10 commits at the game, all of whom would be playing with the likes of Myles Murphy and Tate Ratledge.

Next. What to look for against the Vols. dark

This isn’t a new way of recruiting for Georgia. Kirby Smart likes to let his future players sell the program as much as the coaches. It helps him identify future program leaders and it works. At the end of the day, these players are going to be on a team together for 2-5 years. They’d better like each other. Anyway, there could be some more positives to come from this game. If the Dawgs impress Cine, Webb and some of the younger prospects, they can continue to dominate on the recruiting front. Just what Tennessee and the rest of the SEC do not want to see.
