Georgia Football is now 5-0 after winning their first three SEC games and this weekend they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores.

The Dawgs are going to be under a bit of pressure this week. After a couple of ‘sloppy’ wins over SEC East teams, Georgia Football fans are expecting a better performance this week. They are expecting their team to really go out and bury the Vanderbilt Commodores in a big blowout. That’s even more important considering the Dawgs will be taking on LSU in Death Valley in two weeks in a matchup that many people think Georgia could lose.

So this week’s game does matter. The Dawgs need to show that they have moved past the sloppy offensive play that has plagued it the past two weeks. Vanderbilt is not exactly a defensive powerhouse. They sit 60th in the nation in defense and were pretty heavily thumped by a South Carolina team that was equally hammered by both UGA and Kentucky.

The Commodores are in short, not particularly great. They have a solid QB in Kyle Shurmur who has helped them become a bowl worthy team the past couple of season. However, it’s highly unlikely that we see a repeat of UGA’s shock 1 point loss back in 2016. Back then Georgia was breaking in freshman Jacob Eason and simply couldn’t put it together on offense that day. Fast forward two years and Georgia has way too much talent to lose a game like this.

Call me a homer but I think the Dawgs are very close to putting together a big performance. I don’t expect them to be perfect this week but I do think that both the offense and defense impresses in a very comfortable win. A lot of players will be trying to show that they deserve playing time in the big matchup against LSU so I think the Dawgs should be ready and eager for this game.

Prediction: Georgia 45, Vanderbilt 13
