Georgia Football takes on Florida tomorrow in a game that will define their season. Here are five players who need to step up is UGA is going to get the win the fans desperately want.

You know, I can’t remember a time where this game felt so important. Last year, we all expected that the Georgia Football team was going to trounce a disjointed Florida unit. In the previous 5 or 6 years, the Dawgs had lost too many games early for this particular one to define their season. But this year its different. Both teams are 6-1 and ranked in the top 10. This game is for the SEC East and the chance to play Bama in Atlanta and if the Dawgs are going to win, they’re going to need some of their key players to really step up this weekend.

Jake Fromm, QB:

I don’t think any Georgia player has more resting on this game than Jake Fromm. After the worst performance of his young career against LSU, he’s got to have a great game against Florida. With a second young, homegrown potential superstar in Justin Fields tantalizing the fanbase, the pressure is on Fromm in a way that not many other QB’s in college football can understand. I mean how many teams out there have two genuine 5-star talents at the games most important position?

I stood by Fromm after the LSU game and I’m going to continue to do so. Last year, the guy carried the Dawgs to within an inch of a national championship as a true freshman. Yes, there were senior leaders on this team that did a lot of the lifting, but as QB, he was incredibly important to that team. His play was inspirational at times and he’s shown us that he can be one of the best QB’s in the nation when things click.

The team needs that to happen this week. Those UGA fans screaming for Justin Fields to become the QB1 in this game need to understand that if that were to happen, it means that Fromm has had a second bad game and its likely that Georgia loses. None of us want that and its why Fromm is the most important player for the Dawgs this weekend. If he steps up and becomes the player we saw last year, I don’t see how Georgia loses this game. He’s got too many weapons to not score points of Todd Grantham’s defense. He just needs to play the way that we all know he can.

Look, I’m a massive Justin Fields fan. He’s a special player who I truly believe is going to take UGA to a national championship and become a legend in Athens. But right now, in this game, Georgia needs Jake Fromm to be the guy he was against Oklahoma in the Rose Bowl. If he is, I think they end up giving the Gators the stomping of a lifetime. If he’s not, then yeah, this could be a miserable Saturday.
