Georgia football defeated the Florida Gators in Jacksonville 36-17 to enter a two-way tie with Kentucky for first place in the SEC East.

Didn’t that win feel good Georgia football fans? For the second-straight year, and fifth time in the last eight years, the Dawgs defeated the Florida Gators in Jacksonville. They did so by just being slightly the better team through three quarters, and then completely running away with the lead in the fourth. Here are the players that deserve much of the credit for Georgia’s victory.

Jake Fromm

Of course this conversation has to start with Jake Fromm. He bounced back from a bad game against LSU, to a fantastic game against Florida. He completed 17 of his 24 passes. He racked up 240 passing yards while tossing three touchdowns. And he never threw an interception.

This was the best game of his career considering how well he played and who he played against. Beating Florida means everything to Georgia fans because of how the last 30 years have gone. His completion percentage, yards and touchdowns weren’t the only areas where he shined. Fromm was lethal on third down, something Florida’s defense had bragged about early last week. They can’t brag anymore, Jake Fromm whipped the Gators when his back was against the wall.

Jeremiah Holloman

J.J. Holloman etched his name as one of the best players in Cocktail Party history. For his performance against Florida, he’ll always be a fan favorite and a Georgia legend. Two touchdown catches when the game was still a slugfest, both on third down. Two more catches throughout the game. He finished with 48 receiving yards.

Holloman was the man all game long. His connection with Fromm was perfect, route running was flawless. He didn’t succumb to any pressure. He just played his best and helped lead Georgia to a win.
