Georgia football meets Alabama at Mercedes-Benz Stadium once again this Saturday. This time, the SEC Championship is on the line.

This is it. Georgia football defends its SEC Championship this Saturday against the evil empire across the state line; Alabama. The Dawgs lost the National Championship to Alabama less than a year ago, on the last play, in the same stadium. Despite that finish, the Crimson Tide are two-score favorites. Mostly because of the 12 new starters Georgia had this season, and the fact that Alabama’s closest game all year was a 22-point win over Texas A&M.

But the Bulldogs aren’t lying down. They enter Saturday with a five-game win streak with every victory coming by at least three scores. The Dawgs are rolling, but to roll through Alabama, these select players need to have the performance of their lives.

D’Andre Swift

There might not be a hotter player in the SEC right now than D’Andre Swift. In the last five games, Swift’s rushed for 600 yards and caught for 74 yards. He has five touchdowns as well. The only game in that stretch in which he didn’t rush for 100 yards was the UMass game, where he didn’t play for much of the final three quarters because it was a blowout after one.

He’s running behind likely the best and deepest offensive line in the nation, who might even be stronger this Saturday with Ben Cleveland possibly coming back. How easily Georgia moves the ball against Alabama, hinges on Swift’s production. If the Tide stop him, they might roll to another 20-plus-point victory. But if Swift has a game similar to the one’s he’s had since the trip to Jacksonville, the Bulldogs are going to score a lot of points.
