Georgia football meets Texas in the Sugar Bowl tomorrow night. Kickoff is at 8:45 p.m. eastern time and you can watch the game on ESPN.

Jake Fromm – QB

We all know Texas doesn’t have a great defense, especially against the pass. They allow 265.2 passing yards per game, that’s abysmal and a horrible stat to have considering how well Georgia’s passing game has looked recently. Led by sophomore Jake Fromm, Georgia will sling the ball all over the field.

The variety of targets on the Georgia team will be the biggest challenge for Texas. The Dawgs have small, quick inside targets like Mecole Hardman and Terry Godwin. There’s the bigger, outside guys Riley Ridley and Jeremiah Holloman. Georgia also has a pair of athletic tight ends in Isaac Nauta and Charlie Woerner. And out of the backfield, D’Andre Swift is very dangerous. Given how bad the Texas defense has looked this year, I don’t see how they can stop this Jake Fromm’s arm from hurting them.

D’Andre Swift – RB

If not for Fromm and all the other weapons on Georgia’s offense, Swift may enter the 2019 season as a Heisman frontrunner. He’s been that good since returning to full health in the middle of the season. High quality SEC defenses had trouble tackling Swift this season, how is the smaller Texas defense who is used to pass-first offenses supposed to perform any better?

Tyson Campbell and Eric Stokes – CB

Both freshmen Tyson Campbell and Eric Stokes have started games at cornerback this year, but this will be their first game starting together. They’re getting thrown into the fire immediately against a great Texas passing attack, which averages 264.5 yards per game.

For 28-straight games, Georgia’s defense has relied on Deandre Baker to shut down the best opposing receiver. And for 28 games, he succeeded, it’s why he’s going to be drafted in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft. But Baker isn’t playing tomorrow night so the new CB duo in Athens has to play out of their minds to slow down the Longhorns offense. If they succeed, Georgia fans will be much more anxious for the 2019 season knowing what Campbell and Stokes can accomplish together.
