UGA will move on and likely continue to thrive at QB

Despite the loss of Fields, Georgia will be just fine at QB. Jake Fromm was really damn good this year. Yes, he had a couple of bad games, but he is still a sophomore. He’s got some growing to do and it’s worth pointing out that in his two season so far as a starter, the guy has thrown for 54 touchdowns and just 13 picks. In short, he’s really freaking good.

People keep suggesting that Fromm is going to be a 4-year QB like that’s some sort of insult. As in, ‘he’s not good enough to go pro’. Yeah I’m pretty sure that Kirby Smart would love Jake Fromm to play two more season at Georgia. If he does, then UGA have a pretty damn good chance of winning a Natty. Should that happen, Fromm will likely go down in Georgia history as one of it’s greatest ever players.

UGA will have one of the best QB’s in the nation next season in Fromm. Maybe Fields becomes better one day, but right now, it’s not even close, Fromm is hands down better. So UGA will go into next year with an exceptional QB, offensive line, running back and some dangerous wide receivers. I think it’s safe to say that their offense should be pretty good.

As for a post-Fromm future. Don’t expect things to get much worse. Mathis is very talented and will be in Athens in just a week. Knowing how Kirby and his crew recruit, I’d also look for them to go out and sign a 5-star in the 2020 or 2021 class. I still believe that UGA has the best support structure for a QB outside of Alabama. You’ve got an incredible OL, top flight receivers and one of the best running games in the country. It’s easy to be successful with that around you and top players will continue to flock to Athens on the chance of being the next starter.
