Doug Nester and Kaiir Elam visiting UGA

Dawgs247 announced that two 2019 recruits are visiting Georgia within the next weeks. Doug Nester, the no. 92 player and no. 5 guard, and Kaiir Elam, the no. 61 player and no. 7 cornerback are among the best unsigned players for 2019. There are only four uncommitted players ranked higher that Elam in 2019.

But Elam has been leaning towards Florida, but they already have a blue-chip cornerback in their 2019 class. It’s true that Georgia’s starting corners for 2019 are rising sophomores. But there are still spots Elam can help fill. Georgia’s current regime is more proven at putting defensive players in the NFL than Florida’s, which could be the deciding factor.

Nester on the other hand can be the second player flipped from Ohio State in this class. He’s been committed to the Buckeyes since August on 2017, but that hasn’t stopped him from flirting with other schools. But his trip to Athens will be his first official visit since then. Nester could be another huge loss for Ohio State and massive gain for the Bulldogs.

We may be set at offensive line, but this past year proved that a team can never have too many quality linemen. Injuries happen, so backups like Nester are extremely valuable. No one in the nation seems to understand that value as much as Sam Pittman and the Bulldogs.
