Georgia football recently stole Florida’s defensive backs coach Charlton Warren. Warren will make nearly $400,000 more annually at Georgia.

How did Kirby do it? That was the question on everyone’s minds regarding how the Georgia football head coach convinced Florida’s defensive backs Charlton Warren to leave Gainesville to come to Athens. That question may have been answered Friday as 247Sports revealed how much Warren will make annually at UGA.

Georgia and Warren agreed to a three-year deal where he’ll receive $600,000 annually. Warren made $201,500 at Florida next year, and his contract guaranteed him a $200,000 raise in 2019. So for this coming season, Warren will receive almost $200,000 than if he had decided to stay with Florida.

Warren joins Sam Pittman as the only non-coördinator assistants on the staff who earn over $600,000 a year. Dan Lanning and Glenn Schumann don’t earn that much, but if 247Sports’ sources are to be trusted, both of them will be promoted to co-defensive coordinator. The reason for the delay may be so new contracts can be written up. As well as plans for how each will serve the position.
