Georgia football has secured three-straight top-three recruiting classes with the 2019 ranked no. 2. But there are still positions Georgia needs to address in 2020.

Place Kicker

The great Rodrigo Blankenship is leaving after this coming season having exhausted his eligibility in a stellar Georgia football career. Replacing him will be no small task for coaches.

None so far, full kicker rankings haven’t been released yet.

Wide receiver

This is if Georgia can’t flip George Pickens or Jonathan Mingo from their respective commitments. Georgia only has one receiver in the 2019 class, and it’s a good one in four-star Dominick Blaylock. But by the time the 2020 class roles around, Georgia will likely need to sign another receiver or two since Tyler Simmons is graduating. J.J. Holloman and/or Demetris Robertson may also apply for the NFL with great seasons this year.

Running back

Georgia’s coaches don’t want just a few good running backs, they want a stable. After Brian Herrien graduates, and D’Andre Swift heads to the NFL, the three remaining backs (James Cook, Zamir White, and Kenny McIntosh) will not make a stable. Georgia’s going to be looking for some good running backs in 2020 to rebuild the stable.

Georgia will of course continue to fill out recruiting classes with players of all positions. But running back, wide receiver and placekicker are spots that need to be filled. Other signees in 2020 won’t be expected to play as freshmen. But a freshmen will almost certainly kick field goals in 2020, and coaches want four or five high quality running backs at all times.
