New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had huge praise for head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia football program this morning.

Georgia football coaches, players and prospects will certainly love what New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had to say about the program Kirby Smart has built. Monday, during Super Bowl Media Day at the State Farm Arena, a reporter asked Belichick about the Bulldogs program, he responded:

"“I think Kirby’s program is excellent to prepare guys for the National Football League. The way they practice, the way they prepare and hold each other accountable is certainly similar and consistent with what we try to do.”"

Coming from a head coach with five Super Bowl wins in his career, that’s a huge seal of approval. And it’s one which will certainly help the Georgia football coaches on the recruiting trail for the upcoming Signing Day, and beyond. Don’t be surprised if the talented graphic designers in the Georgia Athletics Department, use this quote in numerous graphics. And expect every recruit that walks into the Butts Mehre Building to see those graphics several times.

That quote is going to become one of Smart’s best recruiting tools. Sure, the prospects want to go to a good school that could prepare them for life after football. And they would like to win championships. But the no. 1 goal for most kids playing big time division-I football is to get to the NFL. And for one of the NFL’s best head coaches of all time to say Georgia is excellent at preparing players for the NFL, and that what the Bulldogs do is consistent with NFL teams, any recruit with pro football dreams has to have Georgia on their mind.

Belichick’s quote isn’t the only recruiting tool from the Super Bowl LIII. Todd Gurley and Sony Michel both starting for their respective teams should make every  top running back prospect in the nation consider adding Georgia to their short list.
