Georgia football signed the no. 2 class in the nation recently. But one of the top-200 players in the class has been overshadowed since committing.

When hyping up the incoming freshman on the Georgia football team, hype typically centers around no. 1 overall player Nolan Smith, wide receivers George Pickens and Dominick Blaylock or center Clay Webb. But oddly enough, the fans of “Running Back U” haven’t been talking about the running back in the class; Kenny McIntosh.

Maybe it’s the disappointment of not signing Trey Sanders or John Emery, but McIntosh has been overshadowed in the 2019 class. Which will make his eventual success that much better, because no one should make the mistake of overlooking McIntosh. He’s not a bottom of the barrel running back the Dawgs had to settle for, he’s ranked no. 187 in the 247Sports Composite rankings, and no. 11 out of all running backs.

McIntosh isn’t going to start any games this year, and it’ll be difficult to take carries from established backs Brian Herrien and James Cook. But, Georgia will do anything to keep no. 1 back D’Andre Swift fresh for when they really need him. That’ll include reaching down the depth chart to play any high quality running back. Add Georgia’s dominant offensive line and love for multi-running back formations, McIntosh will get his chances to shine.

When he gets those chances, Georgia fans will see a running back with great vision who rarely goes down on first contact. He makes that first man miss in a variety of ways. McIntosh has some power with his 218-lb frame. Arm tackles won’t work, defenses will have to plug the holes against him. He also uses a powerful lower body to stop-and-go. Not as drastic as Swift, but still effective.

Fans will have to wait to see McIntosh play. He’s not an early enrollee so he won’t compete in the spring. But with a string summer, he’ll play a role early in the 2019 season.
