Georgia football: NFL Combine will be big for Mecole Hardman
Georgia football has a lot of players attending the NFL combine this year and Mecole Hardman has the talent to open some eyes.
With the NFL Combine coming up soon, several former Georgia football players have a chance to really move up draft boards. None of those players has more to gain than Mecole Hardman. With less than two years experience playing at wide receiver, he’s one of the rawest prospects in this years class. That being said, he’s also one of the most physically gifted people that will set foot in Indianapolis and so he’ll have the chance to shoot up draft boards.
Hardman’s profile on NFL.com shows that despite his limited production he’s going to get very strong looks from NFL teams early in this draft. In a league where speed kills, Hardman is one of the most intriguing weapons in the entire draft. That status should be confirmed at the Combine should he test in the way that many expect.
I think it’s likely that Hardman runs a 4.4 40 yard dash and that’s a good start. But what will really help him is how he does in the catching drills. His big issue at UGA was that he would drop passes that he shouldn’t do. Now it’s worth mentioning again that he only played receiver for 2 years, he’s still learning and it’s not natural to him. That being said, if he can show improvement and make all the catches next week, I think he’s going to move up boards quickly.
Hardman is another UGA player should should get serious consideration in the 2nd day of the draft. If he can impress teams in Indy, then I think theres a very good chance that he hears his name called sooner tha people think. Someone could fall in love with the potential because the raw talent is there for him to one day become a pro bowl caliber weapon.
