Georgia football commit at offensive lineman Broderick Jones jumped several spots in the 247Sports and 247Sports Composite Rankings.

2020 offensive tackle Broderick Jones is now a five-star recruit in both 247Sports Rankings. The massive lineman from Lithonia has been committed to Georgia football since last April. At the time, he was just shy of being a five-star prospect in both polls, being ranked no. 35.

Jones earned his fifth star a few months later after impressing scouts in summer camps. Earlier today, he climbed nine spots in the 247Sports Composite rankings to no. 19 in America. He’s also ranked no. 2 out of OT’s and no. 3 in the state of Georgia. Jones also climbed 10 spots in the regular 247Sports rankings, making him a five-star for the first time in that poll.

His climb is a result of an impressive showing through basketball season and at the Under Armor Future 50 event earlier this year. That day, he proved nearly impossible for linemen to beat.

Georgia only has three commits for 2020 so far but Jones will remain one of the gems of the class. Both tackles, Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson can enter the draft after this season, so the door could be open for Jones to take over starting duties as a freshman. If both tackles stay, Jones can learn the position more and become acclimated to the college game behind two of the best offensive tackles in college football.

Two of Georgia’s three commitments for 2020 are ranked in the 247Sports Composite top 100. Defensive tackle Jamil Burroughs is the other. The class is ranked no. 20 in America but it will quickly climb as more players commit. Numerous players have visited Georgia in recent weeks, but do not expect many to start committing until after the spring practices end.
