Georgia football now has four commitments for 2020 after adding a four-star wide receiver to the class last night.

Georgia football has their first 2020 commitment away from the line of scrimmage. Four-star wide receiver Justin Robinson of Eagles Landing Christian, a powerhouse program from McDonough, committed to the Bulldogs last night. Georgia now has four commits for 2020, the other three are listed as either offensive tackles or defensive tackles.

Now that Robinson has committed, what are the Bulldogs getting? Is he a slot receiver used to find favorable matchups? Or an outside receiver who can beat defenders down the sidelines or high point the ball in tight coverage? Who is Justin Robinson?

Robinson is not the greatest athlete, which is probably why he hasn’t cracked the 247Sports Composite top 300 yet, but he makes up for that in every way possible. He towers over most players. He’s 6-4, 200 pounds with a wide wingspan, and he knows how to use that size. He’s very physical which lends itself to both catches in traffic and blocking for running backs. He’s seems to enjoy blocking as much as receiving, which is a mindset that could get him playing time as a freshman.

Back to his primary role, Robinson is a good route runner with even better hands. He knows how to get himself open with head-movement and quick cuts. He’s a player that’ll arrive on campus with a full route tree. He’s good at both outside and inside routes. But most routes he’ll run will be intermediate and deep routes.

There isn’t really any part of Robinson’s game that is lacking besides athletic ability. Not saying he’s not a good athlete. He just isn’t at the caliber of the receivers you’ll see in the top 100. But like I pointed out earlier, he makes up for his lack of athletic ability by being solid at all fundamentals of the position. He is climbing the 247Sports Composite rankings however. He jumped 932 spots in the last shakeup on February 28. Robinson has a year to develop his athleticism and with his intangibles, should become a top 200 prospect by the time he signs.
