Georgia Football: NFL Draft projections for Dawgs post combine
Riley Ridley
Scouting Report: At 6’2, Riley Ridley is a very different player than his brother, Calvin. He has very strong hands and great ball skills at the receiver position. He truly is one of the best route runners in the draft and uses his body very well. He does a good job of high pointing the ball, and he uses his leverage to put himself in a great position to out-muscle defensive backs in order for him to go and get the ball. His size and body control also makes him a prime red-zone target as well.
There are only two legitimate knocks on Ridley’s game. The first is his lack of game-breaking speed. Ridley is never going to be a deep option that threatens to take the top off the defense, and this may cause him to struggle to gain separation against corners. The second knock is his lack of production due to the offense he played in. Georgia is a very run-heavy offense, and Ridley had to split time with a lot of talented receivers in Athens.
NFL Outlook: Riley Ridley is a very polished and consistent receiver coming out of Georgia. He has been flying up draft boards in the past few months, and I don’t expect that to change after the combine. His best attributes are his route running and strong hands. All in all, Ridley can absolutely become a great No. 2 option in any offense.
Comparison: Mohamed Sanu
