St. John’s College High prospect Mekhail Sherman has shown interest in Georgia football. His teammate Rakim Jarrett visited UGA over the weekend.

Georgia football is going for a sweep of St. John’s College High School’s best two prospects. Their top prospect Mekhail Sherman is very high on Georgia, and one of 247Sports’ most accurate experts believes he’s going to Georgia. Another St. John’s star was in town this weekend.

Five-star wide receiver Rakim Jarrett visited the University of Georgia over the weekend. Athens is his second stop of an eight-stop road trip through SEC country. He visited South Carolina first. This is Jarrett’s second trip to Athens in a little over two months, coaches offered him a scholarship in January. For months, Jarrett seemed to be an Ohio State lock, but he revealed in a recent interview with 247Sports that he wants to play in the SEC.

Dawn of the Dawg ran a story about Jarrett last month, describing the Washington D.C. star in more detail. His biggest strength is getting open. He has a fantastic first step to get open for his quarterback as soon as possible. He’s also good at getting open after he’s completed his route. Jarrett would be any quarterback’s best friend.

After his romp through the SEC, Jarrett is taking a visit to Clemson. When he returns to the capital, expect him to announce what school he’s committing to. This time a year ago, he had just broken into the top-50 in the 247Sports Composite rankings and he was Ohio State all the way. Since then, Tennessee has seemed to open the door for the rest of the SEC to join the hunt. Jarrett’s also climbed 29 spots in the rankings up to No. 16, just three spots behind Sherman. Another teammate, four-star defensive tackle Tre Williams, is already committed to Clemson.
