Georgia football has one of the most talented receiving rooms in the country. Who gets those starting spots this spring? Find out who we think.

Yes, you read the title right. Georgia Football has for sure found their offensive identity in running the ball and for good reasons as it has led to much success. The way the receiving core is looking this year, UGA might become a little more balanced on the offensive side of things.

To set things straight first, I am not saying that UGA is going to become a 50% run and 50% pass team. That is not who UGA is, and that is not who UGA should become. However, I would not be shocked if this season Coley let Fromm cut it loose a lot more than what Chaney did.

It has been quite some time since UGA has seen a guy like AJ Green come through their program and when you run the ball at the rate that Georgia does then that is not surprising. These last two recruiting classes and the current guys on the roster could quickly change that.

The Dawgs since 2018 have recruited three 4-stars and one 5-star at the position. With those players being added on to a roster, the receiving room has an abundance of talent there.

George Pickens 6’5 and Domnick Blaylock 6’1 were apart of the stellar 2019 class. They followed the 2018 class which consisted of Kearis Jackson 5’11 and Tommy Bush 6’5. Height will not be an issue for the next couple of years at the position.

A fan favorite of not only himself but also of his momma, JJ Holloman, is a name who sits at the top of this very talented list of receivers.

In his sophomore season, Holloman had 24 receptions, 418 yards, and five touchdowns. The stud 6’2 receiver has become a favorite target for Fromm and a good reason.

Be on the lookout for No. 9 this season as he looks to have a breakout junior season.

Moving on down the list is someone who the Dawgs recruited very heavily with hopes of capping off the 2016 class by landing this 5-star wideout. Demetris Robertson would end up going to California, but just before last season, D-Rob decided to transfer back home to finish his career with the Dawgs.

Robertson did not see much of the field last season as he came in late during the offseason attempting to learn a brand new playbook. With a full offseason at UGA this spring and fall I would expect Coley and Smart to find many ways to get Robertson’s stellar speed and playmaking ability on the field.

Following D-Rob is Trey Blount, who many are expecting to have a great season in 2019. Blount has not seen much of the field at all in his two-year career with Georgia but heading into his Junior year the 6’2 former 4-star should expect to get his name called more this season.

As the list of receivers goes deeper on the roster, the names only get better.  Matt Landers, who Kirby has been very high on as of late based on his performances in the spring scrimmages brings a lot to the table. He is 6’5, need I say more?

Tommy Bush is a redshirt freshman who I wouldn’t necessarily expect to see much of this season, but just like Landers, he brings a massive frame to the table.

Bush also runs a 4.47 40-yard time which is almost unheard of at his height. His time may not be now, but Tommy Bush is a name Dawg Nation should remember.

Georgia’s offense was already looking great with the offensive line and running backs. Putting these stud receivers alongside Jake Fromm could be an offensive unit that is unstoppable for defenses.

Georgia’s receiving unit may not be on the level that former Ole Miss receiver D.K. Metcalf is, but one thing that is for sure is these boys are not to be taken lightly.

With a guy like Fromm behind center and the number of playmakers lining up beside him, the Bulldogs are a threat to score from almost anywhere on the field.
