Georgia Football: Started from the Bottom, now Tae is here
Georgia football’s Tae Crowder has always seemed to face adversity head-on. With today’s players transferring for the simplest reasons, Crowder is a light in the darkness.
With the transfer portal coming in to play it has only encouraged players to leave a program when a situation may not fit their liking. Georgia football linebacker, Tae Crowder, however, decided to tackle his adversity head-on.
When Crowder came out of Harris County High School in Hamilton, Ga. Tae ranked as a 3-star running back and the nation’s 1868th best player.
Late into his freshman year, Crowder was asked to move from running back to linebacker to see how he would fair on the other side of the ball.
Since moving positions, Crowder has racked up 60 total tackles over his career, and just last season he had two interceptions, a forced fumble, and 1.5 sacks.

Crowder never saw a single down as a running back and being asked to move positions is by no means an easy task to face. It takes a special player to take it upon themselves to prove themselves at another position while keeping a positive mindset.
Thanks to that team-first mindset, Tae has now emerged as not only a top linebacker for the Dawgs but a top linebacker in the conference.
In his junior season, Crowder had six tackles for loss and five QB pressures, which were good enough to be at the top amongst all inside linebackers.
Not only does Crowder play a vital role on the field but also outside of games.
As Georgia continues to reel in top prospects at the linebacker position including most recent commit, 5-star Mekhail Sherman 2020, Tae looks to be a leader amongst the younger players to help develop them.
Just as easy as Tae made his transition to linebacker look it would have been just as easy for him to find another home.
Players like Crowder are the type of people who every program needs. Guys who are willing to make sacrifices and leave their pride at the door and does everything they do for the name on the front of that jersey.
Entering into his senior year, Tae currently holds the frame of 6’3 235 pounds. If he can hold onto that size and put together a season like the one he had his junior year Georgia might be in a for an extraordinary treat defensively.
Crowder this season will lineup with guys like Monty Rice, Brenton Cox, Quay Walker, and other fellow savages. The squad that the Dawgs have at linebacker this season could be one for the ages.
Regardless of the adversity that Georgia may face this season, fans know that if there is one player that they can count on to step up, it is Tae Crowder.
