Record breaking Georgia baseball season

For the Bulldogs, Emerson’s win claimed for the 2019 Diamond Dawgs the Georgia record for both regular season wins and SEC wins in a regular season. Georgia will likely be named one of eight national seeds with the guarantee of hosting a Super Regional should they survive a Regional at Foley Field.

You have to like the odds. The Dawgs are 28 – 3 at home.

Built for Omaha

Pitching and defense led the way for this Georgia baseball team, and if the baseball truism “great pitching and timely hitting wins championships” is foretelling, the Dawgs should be playing when the college baseball world make its annual pilgrimage to Omaha.

Nationally, Georgia ranks fifth in ERA, 24 in strikeouts, first in hits per inning, and second in walks-plus-hits per inning. Behind the Dawg pitchers plays the number 13 fielding percentage defense in the country. While an impressive number, the ranking fails to do justice to the Bulldog fielders range and play making skills.
