Georgia baseball spins a magical tale
Catch the fever
A championship team warms up with the weather, and the Dawgs banged out 47 hits during the three game series against Alabama to score 30 runs.
“We’re starting to turn it around and kind of getting hot at the right time,” catcher Mason Meadows said. “If we’re going to get hot at one point it might as well be the end of the season.”
Yep. Might as well.
Set for a run
Georgia begins play in the SEC tournament Wednesday morning at 10:30 against the winner of Tuesday’s Florida – Texas A & M game. The Dawgs are the healthiest they have been all season, and the expansive Hoover Metropolitan Complex field is exactly the kind of ball park the Dawgs love to play in.
Dawg pitching appears set up for a deep run, Chip Towers of Dawgnation reports, as Tim Elliott will start on the mound for Georgia.
Elliot is one of the best mid-week pitchers in the country, sporting a 6-3 record and 2.93 ERA. The Dawgs future millionaires rotation of Cole Wilcox, Tony Locey and Emerson Hancock will then take over, and if they take over in the winners bracket, look for the Dawgs to play for the title on Sunday.
