Georgia Football’s Jake Fromm No.1 quarterback in 2020 NFL Draft
Georgia football has had a ton of recent success in the NFL Drafts. The Bulldogs had seven go in the 2019 NFL draft. Now, the Dawgs have a player who is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick for 2020 Draft.
Jake Fromm is currently projected to be Georgia football’s first overall draft pick since the Detriot Lions selected Matthew Stafford in 2009.
According to a 247Sports article, CBS Sports has the rising junior quarterback at the top of the list over Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oregon’s Justin Herbert.
CBS Sports believe that the Dolphins will take Fromm at the No.1 spot despite trading for Josh Rosen this year. Former Georgia quarterback, Jacob Eason projects to go at No. 28 in this draft to the Los Angeles Chargers.
As a Dawg, Eason had 16 touchdowns, eight interceptions and threw for 2,430 yards. He seems to have won the starting job at Washington this season.

Fromm earned the starting job over Eason after he went down with an injury in game one against Appalachian State.
After that, the true-freshman led the team to its first SEC title in 12 years and then its first national title game in 30+ years.
Since Fromm step foot on campus, he has been an ideal offensive leader.
In two years, Fromm has 5,376 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He’s 24-5 as the starter.
In the 247Sports article, Greg McElroy compliments the quarterback for his abilities on the field and how accurate he is.
“His intangibles are off the charts,” McElroy said in a 247Sports article. “There’s probably still room to grow. That’s what’s so remarkable. He had such a great year throwing it last year, especially on third down. He’s very accurate with the football. It’s not the biggest arm in the world, but he has taken a liking to what they’re doing offensively under new coordinator James Coley.”
No one knows if Fromm will forgo his senior year and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft, but if he continues to play the way he does, it wouldn’t surprise me.
However, after falling short in the title game in 2017, in the SEC title game and Sugar Bowl in 2018, Fromm has a point to prove that he can play on the big stage and get the Dawgs that title.
If Fromm performs like he has the last two seasons, and gets over the hump of Alabama then yes, I think he will declare. If he declares and has another outstanding year, yes, I think he will go at the No. 1 overall pick.
Georgia football has one of the best quarterbacks in the country and this season is his year to be in the spotlight and make that point known. He is better than Tagovailoa and other quarterbacks, now he just has to prove it.
