Georgia Football: Zeus will be loose and ready to strike for Fall camp
Georgia football got good news earlier this week with the announcement that former 5-star running back Zamir “Zeus” White will receive clearance before fall camp from his two ACL injuries.
Georgia football running back Zamir White took to Twitter on May 21 and it sent the fanbase into an excited frenzy. This tweet came after head coach Kirby Smart confirmed to multiple media sources that he will be cleared by fall camp.

This tweet gives me chills, and he isn’t fully cleared yet. There are 100 days or so until kick off and one of the greatest running backs I have ever seen play high school football will be able to suit up in the red and black and hopefully begin a long career.
Last spring, White had already rehabbed one knee injury and then in the middle of practice tore the other ACL during a drill. He didn’t play in this year’s G-Day game for precautionary reasons, and I wouldn’t have played him either.
According to a 247Sports article, Smart said he expects White to be ready to go by the time preseason practice starts.
“Well, yes, he would be past time for that (by the time for the start of camp),” Smart said to 247Sports. “He would be cleared for that, we anticipate. He still has to go through the protocol, testing … and go see the doctors to be cleared. But based on an ACL repair, he would be past time for that.”
White’s nickname is Zeus, and in high school, he lived up to that name. In his four years of high school ball, Zeus ran for 7,169 yards and119 rushing touchdowns on 738 carries. He averaged 152.5 yards a game himself alone and 9.7 yards every time he touched the ball.
The biggest thing for White will likely be learning to retake a hit and being mentally able to do it again after two terrible injuries.
Smart told the media that like last spring, he’s rehabbing and doing what he needs to with the sports medicine staff.
“Everything’s been good,” Smart said to 247Sports. “He’s rehabbing with Ron. Ron sends me videos of him running, him doing things but it’s all the things you guys have seen so it’s not like I’m getting things I haven’t seen before. In spring, he ran, he cut, he caught the ball, he did things, he just didn’t have contact and he’s not going to have contact until fall camp. But as far as his attitude, his strength, all his testing, he’s right where he should be and doing what he should do.”
White got to Georgia as one of the most sought after running backs in the country for the 2018 class. He was the most impressive running back I’ve ever seen.
Now Zeus has to overcome these two injuries and keep going. If he is as good as he was in high school, I honestly feel bad for any defense that faces him. White will be on a mission this season, and if he can stay healthy, then he and D’Andre Swift will be a deadly duo that could both end up in New York this December.
Get ready, Zeus will be loose in under 100 days, and Georgia fans could see the reborn of a Herschel Walker type player.
