Tyson Campbell

Tyson Campbell played in 14 games during the 2018 season, the 6-2 185 pound sophomore from Plantation, Fla, recorded 45 tackles, one pass deflection, one forced fumble, and two fumble returns.

Tyson started 11 of those games before Eric Stokes took over later in the season.

I expect Campbell to bounce back this year and show us just why 247Sports had him slated as their No. 2 defensive back in the nation with a 5-star rating.

With DeAndre Baker now playing in the NFL, the Dawgs need Campbell to step up and lock down one of the outside cornerback spots. I believe he will do just that and more.

I believe he has what it takes to be one of the top CBs in the SEC this year. He is bigger and faster than Baker, and with some help from Georgia’s coaching staff could become an even better player.

I know that is saying a lot as DeAndre Baker is the school’s lone Jim Thorpe Award winner.

However, I think Campbell has the skill set to be special. I believe Campbell’s only hang up is his confidence.

As long as he keeps his confidence, he is a solid CB, but the second it gets shaken, he is a different player. With a year under his belt going against SEC wideouts, I think his confidence will be unshaken this year.

I’m expecting a different Campbell this year, the Tyson Campbell we all expected to come in as a highly touted 5-star freshman.
