Five Georgia Football Sophomores Primed for a breakout season in 2019

Eric Stokes continues the parade of solid secondary players into Athens in the last few years.
Stokes is a long cornerback, standing at 6-1, he also weighs 185 pounds, just the size you want in your secondary players. He had a heck of a year his freshmen season, eventually earning the starting corner position opposite of DeAndre Baker.
Speaking of awards, Stokes was the co-winner of Georgia’s Defensive Most Improved Player in 2018.
Stokes played in 13 games collecting 20 tackles, one tackle for loss, and an incredible nine pass deflections.
He showed enough last year for Dawg fans not to be that worried about too bad a drop coming from Baker going to the NFL.
Stokes comes into this year as one of the top corners on Georgia’s roster, joining a slew of talents like Tyson Campbell, Divaad Wilson, and Tyrique Stevenson on the team.
He came on campus at Georgia as a 3-star prospect, just like Baker. Stokes was the 61st ranked cornerback nationally by 247Sports, but you would not know that by his play on the field.
Just ask all those SEC wide receivers that had to see him lined up across from them last season. Stokes has what it takes to be a shutdown corner, and I fully expect him to be just that for the Bulldogs this year.
I do not expect to be hearing his name called a lot on Saturdays, and that is a very good thing. Well, not unless it is to announce an interception.
