Georgia Football needs 5-Star CB Kelee Ringo for 2020 class
Georgia football lost one of the best cornerbacks to ever come through the school with Deandre Baker. Now the Bulldogs are loaded with talent at the position but need an ‘it’ factor guy and Kelee Ringo is that guy in 2020.
On 247Sports, Georgia football currently has the No. 5 overall class and the No. 3 SEC class for 2020. The Bulldogs average rating per commit is 94.56.
Georgia already has two five stars, but room for a few more. One of those five-stars it needs is Kelee Ringo, the No. 1 cornerback in the country.
The Bulldogs already have one cornerback committed to the 2020 class with 4-star Jalen Kimber from Arlington, Texas. He pledged to the Bulldogs on April 17 and is the No. 10 CB in the country.
Kimber’s 6-0 170 pounds and runs a 4.47 40-yard dash according to his 247Sports profile, and that’s a good sign. He has the height and the speed but needs to put on a little weight.
According to Ringo’s 247Sports profile, he ranks as the No. 9 overall player, the No. 1 CB and the No. 1 player in Arizona. Ringo is 6-2 and 205 pounds.
He is the ideal size that a team would want in its secondary players, especially a coach like Kirby Smart and the defensive backs coach Charlton Warren.
Ringo is a special player; he comes with the size already intact. He’s long and carries his weight well. Ringo is explosive on the ball and has impressive straight-line speed.
He sees the ball well and possesses excellent ball skills in general. Ringo can get a little too physical at times but is extremely competitive. He needs to get his aggression in check, but with the right coaching, he can pull that aggression out and make something magical with it.
In 2018, he recorded 31 tackles, one tackle for loss and had one interception on the season. I expect those numbers to increase for his senior year.
Ringo was in town for Georgia’s scavenger hunt, and it seemed to go well. He posted these tweets of him and his mother on the visit.

Since his visit, I hadn’t gotten out of my mind how bad Georgia needs this player. He has the speed and the ability to shut down whichever side he plays eventually.
Georgia needs to land Ringo because he could eventually be the next Jim Thorpe winner for the team and help them compete for a national title. He is your ideal corner.
Now home is a long way from Athens, GA to Scottsdale, Ariz., but if he wants to play for the best, it won’t matter. Ringo is an SEC cornerback, and his next home should be in the Classic City.
Georgia seems to be one of the top teams right now for him, but don’t count out Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and Oregon either. These other four schools will keep pushing for him even after he makes his decision.
If I had to predict where Ringo will end up right now, I would say Georgia. It seems like the staff knocked it out of the park with this last visit, and in my opinion, he could commit sooner than later.
However, Georgia must continue to sell the program with him until they get his signature on the dotted line. I believe once he commits it could be over, but with this high caliber of player, the Dawgs need to handle it as they did with Nolan Smith.
I have full faith in the staff though, and I think Ringo is just the start to how impressive the 2020 Georgia football recruiting class will be.
