Ben Cleveland: Tormund Giantsbane

As soon as I saw Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones, I thought of Ben Cleveland. This comparison was the easiest to note because they’re so similar.

Giantsbane is part of the free folk Jon Snow runs into during his adventures.  He is one of the key leaders and a renowned warrior and raider. We first see him in Season 3 of Game of Thrones.

He is a huge guy and has a commanding presence along with fire red hair to make him stand out of the crowd. Gaintsbane likes to have a good time, tell tall tales and flirt with the women.

Cleveland is a giant guy who seems like he would go to war for anyone on the team much like Gaintsbane would for his people and eventually Snow.

Gaintsbane is himself, and Cleveland is the same way. Cleveland likes to hunt and be outside, and Gaintsbane seems like a similar fellow.

The most significant difference is the red hair versus Cleveland’s brown hair, and even sometimes, Gaintsbane’s hair looks almost brown. They both have full beards and huge personalities. While he was up for the mountain position on this list, it was hard not to make him Giantsbane.

In all honesty, I can see Cleveland in the fur,  drinking out of a horn as Giantsbane did and killing anyone who hurts his people.
