Georgia football had most of its 2019 class enrollee in January. Now the rest of the group is on campus or headed to Athens to begin their college careers.

Back in January, Georgia football had 18 from the 2019 class enroll early including transfers. Now the other players are filing into campus to begin summer workouts.

As I was scrolling through Twitter, I noticed a video from Georgia football welcoming the newest members of the football team to campus.

The video featured players like Travon Walker, Bill Norton, Kenny McIntosh, Dominick Blaylock, Zion Logue, and Brett Seither moving into their dorms. Coach Tray Scott was also in the video helping Norton and others move in along with some other coaches.

According to 247Sports, Georgia finished as the No. 2 overall class and No. 2 in the SEC for the 2019 recruiting cycle. The average rating per commit was 93.32.

Georgia’s players that enrolled early include three 5-stars,  nine 4-stars, and two 3-stars.

Those players are:

  • 5-star DE/OLB Nolan Smith
  • 5-star ILB Nakobe Dean
  • 5-star OC/OG Clay Webb
  • 4-star CB Tyrique Stevenson
  • 4-star S Lewis Cine
  • 4-star OLB Rian Davis
  • 4-star ILB Trezmen Marshall
  • 4-star JUCO WDE Jermaine Johnson
  • 4-star OT Warren McClendon
  • 4-star TE Ryland Goede
  • 4-star JUCO CB DJ Daniel
  • 4-star QB D’Wan Mathis
  • 3-star JUCO DT Tramel Walthour
  • 3-star JUCO QB Stetson Bennett IV

Some players took to Twitter to let Dawg Nation know they were on campus finally.

WR transfer Lawrence Cager

We’re still waiting for the confirmation of George Pickens, Xavier Truss, Tymon Mitchell and transfer from Tennessee Eli Wolf.

2019 was a fully loaded class for the Bulldogs and one that many are excited to see. While we got to see some of them in the G-day game, there are a few of the summer arrivals I’m most excited to see on the field.

One of those is Travon Walker, a five-star DT from Thomaston, Georgia. According to 247Sports, he ranked in the 2019 Composite rankings as the No. 22 overall, the No. 3 DT and the No. 2 player from Georgia.

The Bulldogs haven’t seen a defensive tackle of this caliber in a long time. Probably since Trenton Thompson in 2015. We all know how Thompson turned out at Georgia. However, I have a feeling that Walker could be a future All-American.

Another that I’m excited to get on campus is Miami transfer, Lawrence Cager. He was originally a part of Miami’s 2015 class and will attend Georgia as a graduate transfer.

At 6-5 and 200 pounds, he is at playing weight now and could make an immediate impact if he can learn the offense quick enough. Jake Fromm needs another big wide receiver to throw to, and Cager is one of them arriving this summer.

The final player I’m excited about is George Pickens. Now he isn’t enrolled yet but should be in the next week. Georgia fans and likely some of the coaching staff didn’t know if he would qualify but found out a few days ago that he did indeed qualify and would enrolee this summer.

Pickens was another five-star in the 2019 class and 247Sports had him ranked as the No.24 overall, the No. 4 WR and the No. 1 player in Alabama. He was an Auburn commit for the longest time before flipping to the Bulldogs on Signing Day in February.

The flip came as a shock to some, but I saw the pattern and kept Pickens in my class prediction for a long time. He is another big wide receiver that Georgia will use with the jump balls.

Pickens reminds me a lot of AJ Green and his ability to be a play-maker on the field. At 6-5 and 190 pounds, he could stand to gain a little more weight to fill out his frame. Pickens doesn’t have crazy speed like other wide receivers, but his height, balance, vision, and, body control are like no other.

Next. If Georgia Football Players were Game of Thrones Characters. dark

These are just three guys I’m excited to see at Georgia this season. To be honest, the entire 2019 recruiting class excites me. From Nolan Smith, Nakobe Dean to Tyrique Stevenson, Clay Webb, Kenny McIntosh, and George Pickens, its a complete class that addressed almost every need Georgia football had.

Now it’s their turns to wear the red and black and hopefully be some of the most successfull Bulldogs ever. Kirby Smart’s dynasty starts with this group and they’re all almost on campus and ready to begin their next chapter.
