Georgia Football: Three Offensive Players who could be All-Americans
By Eric Taylor
Which Georgia football offensive players could be All-Americans this year?
Georgia football has an abundance of talent, but only a rare few can earn All-America honors. Who at Georgia can achieve that?
Let’s start by defining what it means to be an All-American. It means that the media has deemed you worthy of being one of the very best at your position in all of college football. You are part of the elite, the best of the best.
It is an honor that not too many get and even fewer repeat. So what Georgia players could earn this distinction this season?
The first person that comes to mind is Jake Fromm. Fromm has been leading this team for two years now. Georgia has had two highly touted quarterbacks transfer to different schools after seeing that Fromm is not relinquishing the reins of this offense.
This is Fromm’s team until he decides to go to the next level. Which, I’m sure, NFL coaches are hoping is sooner rather than later.
One would have to imagine that D’Andre Swift would also have to be up for this honor. The shifty running back has already been mentioned in circles as a Heisman Trophy candidate. His 2018 season almost mirrors that of Garrison Hearst’s 1991 season. That was the season just before Hearst would end up third in the Heisman Trophy Award voting.
Rounding out Georgia’s Triplets is wide receiver, Jeremiah Holloman.
Holloman is taking over the WR1 position for the first time this season. He brings a lot of potential to the position and could take Georgia’s air attack to a level it hasn’t seen in years. Georgia has never had a wide receiver win an All-American award. It is time that changes.
