Four 2020 Tight end prospects Georgia Football’s Eyeing
Georgia football has its eyes on three tight ends in the 2020 class, all of which are five-stars. Which will the Bulldog land?
One area Georgia football needs to address in the 2020 class is the tight end position.
Recently hired tight coach Todd Hartley has been busy since he took the job and is going after some of the best tight ends in the country.
On 247Sports, the Bulldogs have the No. 4 overall and the No. 3 2020 recruiting class. Georgia has 11 members and averages a 94.17 rating per commit.
The Bulldogs don’t currently have any tight ends committed yet, but I expect them to take two at least in this class. With Isaac Nauta gone to the draft and Charlie Woerner graduating after this year, the Bulldogs will need one or two more in the tight end room.
According to 247Sport, Georiga’s offered nine tight ends and two athletes who want to play tight end in college for the 2020 class.
Those nine include the No.1, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6, No. 8, No. 9, No. 13, and No. 14 ranked tight ends in the country.
Hartley isn’t sticking to southern tight ends either; he has made sure to offer these talented players from all over the country. Arik Gilbert from Marietta, Georgia, is the only one from the state to get an offer at this position.
Georgia’s offered Jalin Conyers from Gruver, Texas, Theo Johnson from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Darnell Washington from Las Vegas, Nevada and D.J. Rogers from Sammamish, Washington.
It’s interesting to see Hartley go all over the country and pick out these specific guys. I mean it’s hard to find a talented tight end in the south sometimes so the Dawgs will go wherever to get the right guy.
Now the Bulldogs don’t have a chance at every single one of these talented tight ends, but the Dawgs are making good progress with a few of them.
Georgia could very well sign two tight ends for this recruiting class and here are four guys that the Bulldogs have an excellent shot at to land for the 2020 class.
