Georgia football added its second commitment of June late Monday night. This time it was some more muscle to go on the great wall of Pittman.
Add another commit to Georgia football’s 2020 recruiting class as the Bulldogs reel in another 4-star from the state of Florida.
Georgia added 4-star offensive tackle Joshua Braun to its class late Monday night with his father making the announcement.
Braun is 6-foot-6 and 335 pounds. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he ranks as the No. 25 overall offensive tackle and the No. 45 player in Florida.
He isn’t the first Braun brother to pick a Georgia school as his older brother Parker Braun currently plays for Georgia Tech.
It has been a busy spring for him after visiting South Carolina on May 31, Florida on May 17, Auburn on April 19, and FSU on March 15. Braun will make his official visit to Georgia this weekend.
With Braun’s commitment, Georgia now has four out of the SunshinStatete for the 2020 class. Offensive line coach and his precious bulldog, Lucy, took to Twitter after his dad made the announcement and made another perfect ‘yes sir’ videos.
Braun is Georgia’s fourth offensive linemen for the 2020 class joining 5-star Broderick Jones, 4-star Tate Ratledge, and 4-star Akinola Ogunbiyi.
At 6-6 335-pounds he is currently the same size as Ben Cleveland. He is massive and will fit in nicely with Georgia’s linemen. The Bulldogs current offensive line players have an average 6-foot-5 height and weigh 320.62 pounds, Braun is an inch above that and is 15 pounds heavier.
To be as big as he is, Braun can move pretty well on his feet and even plays tennis. I like his footwork a lot, and his mobility makes him an excellent run blocker.
Braun can open up some holes and is very versatile, and doesn’t quit either. After he gets his guy, Braun will go after another till he hears the whistle. In my opinion, he has a large ceiling, and someone Pittman can really develop.
His sheer size allows him to bulldoze over people, but I’m ready to see him against some equal talented competition. Braun may bulldoze over people but gets out of his stance quickly and doesn’t look so stiff, even better in my opinion.
After watching his film, I like what he brings to the table. The Bulldogs could lose Andrew Thomas after this season, and so one of the tackle positions could be open for some serious competition.
Braun and his fellow 2020 offensive line brothers will have plenty of competing to do, and they know who is in front of them already.
What Pittman and Georgia are doing at the offensive line position continues to blow my mind. Pittman will go anywhere in the country and pluck out whoever he wants, and that is what makes him one of the most lethal weapons for the Bulldogs.
With Braun’s commitment, Georgia now 12 commits and has the No. 4 overall recruiting class, the No. 3 in the SEC, and have a 93.80 average rating per commit.
The Bulldogs will likely take one or two more on the offensive line for the 2020 class. As for the month of June, I don’t think Georgia is quite finished adding commitments to its class.
