Georgia football snatched a couple of four-star recruits out of Florida the last two weeks. Stay tuned.  The Smart Dawg’s Sunshine State strategy is just beginning to take hold.

Kirby Smart claimed a four-star recruit for Georgia football in each of the last two weeks, both from Florida. To make things even more delicious for Bulldog fans in what Paul Finebaun has declared “the hottest rivalry in the SEC,” the Florida  head mullett, Dan Mullen, received another de-commitment, this one from his 2021 class. What a country America is!

Georgia football now has one less four-star recruit from Florida high schools than Florida’s flagship Gators. The Gators in-state rival, FSU, the rival Dan Mullen worries about when he can take time off from worrying about Georgia, has seven Florida four-star recruits.

And Miami? Also seven four-star Florida recruits, plus a five-star.

Braun shows his brains

On Monday, Georgia added 4-star offensive tackle Joshua Braun to its presumptive 2020 class. Braun is the number 45 ranked recruit in Florida.

That makes four offensive line recruits for Sam Pittman, Georgia’s offensive line whisperer. Pittman and Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart beat out Florida for the 6-foot-6 and 335 pound Braun.

Brinson comes home

Last week, the Dawgs surprised pundits, gaining the promise of future matriculation from Sunshine State defensive lineman Warren Brinson.

Brinson, a former Georgia de-commitment, is now the fourth defensive line commitment in the Bulldogs 2020 class.

Georgia football’s Sunshine State Strategy

Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart made clear his designs on Florida football talent last spring. Smart elevated to offensive coordinator former Miami, FSU and Miami Dolphin coach and Miami high school star and James Coley. He then hired Todd Hartley off the Miami staff and Charlton Warren off the Florida staff.

All three are excellent coaches, but they are now with Georgia football because of their close ties to Florida high school talent.

Hold on to your mullet, Gators. Kirby Smart’s Sunshine Strategy is in full implementation. Resistance is futile.
