The first three game times for Georgia football’s 2019 season are known. Now we discuss why game No. 4 for the Dawgs MUST be a night game.

Georgia football hosts Notre Dame on Sept. 21, and that will be one of the biggest games that weekend and potentially in the entire season.

This game will be the final one in the home-home series between the two teams. It’s also only the second time since the national championship game in 1980 that these two teams have faced off.

Georgia will likely have a HUGE recruiting weekend, and well, Athens will be buzzing with a vibe like no other.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the game didn’t see ESPN Game Day. Maybe SEC Nation makes an appearance.

However, If you look at Week 4’s schedule, the games that could compete with the ESPN GameDay slot are California vs. Ole Miss, Oklahoma State vs. Texas, and Michigan vs. Wisconsin.

Out of those games, I would easily put the Georgia game as the spot for ESPN GameDay.

As for SEC Nation well there are quite a few games it could compete with to have the crew on campus.

The SEC games going on that week are LSU vs. Vanderbilt, Auburn vs. Texas A&M, South Carolina vs. Missouri, Kentucky vs. Mississippi State and Tennessee vs. Florida.

If I had to pick I would say Paul Finebaum and the crew will be in the Swamp for that game.

Regardless Georgia vs. Notre Dame will likely be a prime time game, but that isn’t good enough for this one. This matchup must be prime-time 8 p.m. ABC kick off.

There isn’t a game that weeks that has The historical element along with keeping a team’s hopes alive for the playoff all ride on this week and matchup.

We all saw what having a road game against a top-ranked team like Notre Dame on your resume does for a team. It helped put Georgia into the final four along with winning the SEC Championship. But still, this game made Georgia’s record look that much more impressive.

Both teams will likely be undefeated going into it, and it’ll just make it that much more exciting.

Just imagine Sanford stadium slammed pack, rocking and hearing the Red Coat Band playing ‘Glory, Glory.’ The fans loud and giving the Fighting Irish another look at the red sea that still haunts them from two years ago.

If this matchup isn’t a night prime-time game, then it will not be given the justice it deserves. Millions of people will tune in to watch this throwdown between the hedges, and it’s going to be one of the defining moment of Georgia’s 2019 national title run.
